Design Strategy + Research
Marika is a passionate human-centered design strategist with over ten years of consulting experience across 15 countries. She was an inaugural design fellow at the design nonprofit IDEO.org in 2011, and has since partnered with IDEO.org dozens of times to lead design projects with in-house teams.
Marika’s position as an independent designer and strategist has also given her the flexibility to collaborate with many other innovative organizations to tackle tough issues from a user-first design perspective, often through longer embedded engagements with internal teams.
Among these organizations are the Nike Foundation (2+ year engagement), the International Rescue Committee’s Airbel Impact Lab (1 year engagement), Dalberg Design Impact Group, and the Independent Television Service/PBS. This work stretches across design strategy, design research (qual & quant), brand strategy, and service design.
